We are now offering Royal Mail 1st class signed for Post, this is a £6.50 charge for any item. Royal Mail states delivery between 1-3 Days ( Royal Mail can not guarantee this due to covid issues in some depots around the country)

As some of our garments come direct from the manufacturers based in the EU delivery times at this stage have been impacted due to the new rulings. Please contact us if you have any questions.

  • For Overseas posting we are using DPD, they delivery normally within 5 working days.

  • For the USA we have set up a range of postal charges dependent on value of goods ordered. Where the delivery costs dramatically exceed this amount, we will e-mail our customers with a quote for the increased shipping.
  • All orders from the USA and other selected countries will occur Customs duty, these will need to pay paid by you before the parcel is delivered. The delivery company will contact you.
  • Some larger items like Suits and Jackets may be sent via a different carrier, TNT or UK Mail. these items may be bagged rather than boxed. Please make sure you enter your phone number when placing your order, this will help the delivery driver to complete the delivery, a signature will be needed.
  • Please add your phone number when placing your order.
  • On occasions items are sent by the manufactures direct to you.
  • If you are purchasing 2 or more items that are large in size eg coats/jackets then these will be despatched separately due to weight restrictions.

Next Day Deliveries

Due to Royal Mail and other companies we use,  we have deceived to remove the Next Day delivery option as this can not be guaranteed 

Our guaranteed delivery for Special Delivery Guaranteed by 1.00pm will change,  up to 9.00pm the next working day.

This service unfortunately can not be guaranteed due to Royal Mail issues.

Other companies like Brook Taverner and Scott cannot guarantee next day deliveries at the moment, please call us for more information (22.06.2022)

If you would like Next Day delivery ( by 1.00pm approximately) the cost for smaller items will be £12.50,  this service is carried out by Royal Mail, On larger items or items coming direct from the manufacturers will still be £12.50 but may take up to 5pm via a different carrier, TNT, UK Mail and DPD.

For next day deliveries, orders placed before 11.45 am on a weekday (excluding public holidays & Fridays)  will be delivered the following working day. 

Orders placed after 12noon on a weekday or anytime on a weekend including Thursdays, Fridays or a public holiday will be delivered on the second working day. Deliveries are not delivered at weekends.

Orders placed before 11.45am on a Friday will be delivered on the following Monday, orders placed after 12 noon will be delivered on the following Tuesday, unless a Bank Holiday is in between were it will be delivered the Wednesday.

Some items from Brook Taverner trouser range can not be guaranteed next day delivery due to leg lengths being altered. For information please contact us.

Birtchnells offer a free visiting service to home and offices for customers who would like the personal service, please contact us to see if we can cover your area.

There may be some occasions where we are able to deliver goods via our own vehicle. In the event of this being an option we will make contact with the customer.

Express Delivery

Express deliveries to Europe & USA are available on request.

The service we provide either standard or express delivery to Europe or USA are stated in duration time in working days not including weekends.

Sale items

Sale items will occur a small postage charge of £4.50 for orders under £60 unless you choose Next day delivery or a overseas service where other charges will apply.

We do not offer free returns on sale items,  If an item is returned within our 14 day return period we will refund you the goods amount but not the postage.

Unfortunately the 10% discount from our newsletter subscriber does not include sale items.

Thinking of returning an Item?

Please phone or email us if you are thinking of returning any items so we can issue you a returns number and a Postage paid label.

Items returned to us without a returns number will take longer to process.

Free exchanges & Returns (On non sale items)

For Christmas orders we will extend our returns up to the 14th January 2023.

We offer FREE returns in the UK ( not including the Channel Islands & Sale items). We do not refund postage on any item returned

The free return service does not include sale items or returns from overseas.

We are happy to exchange any items WITHIN 14 DAYS at no cost to you, unless you live outside the U.K  where a cost will apply.

Please contact us for a returns number and a postage paid label,   please ensure you receive proof of postage as you are liable for the item until it reaches us.

If you the customer purchased a Next Day delivery and the goods were not suitable we will refund the goods but not the postage unless we sent the wrong items.

If the items are returned without the original packaging and without labels attached,  or a garment that is not from Birtchnells then a refund will NOT BE given and the items will be sent back to you at your cost.

All items have been carefully chosen to provide you with a high standard of quality. If you are not entirely satisfied you can return your new and unused goods in their original packaging within 14 days of receipt for a full refund of the purchase price.Thereafter a Credit Note or Exchange will be given.

This does not effect your statutory rights. We do not accept any item with any indication that it has been used. If we receive such an item we will send the item back to the purchaser at the purchaser’s cost. Please allow up to 3 weeks once you have returned your parcel for a refund to be credited.

Return postage and packaging costs

Please note that you are liable for the safe return of your purchase, in the event that the item you are returning is not faulty. Should any product be faulty, or incorrect please contact us via email or by telephone and we will advise you how to return your goods. Please use original packaging to return goods, enclose your order reference and contact details.

Exchanges & Faulty Goods

We are happy to exchange any item at no cost to you unless you live outside the U.K. where a cost will apply Please contact us via email or by phone with the nature of the problem. On receipt of the unwanted item, we will send a replacement subject to availability. If the item was incorrectly despatched by us, we will cover all postage charges, this also applies to replacement or faulty goods.

If you were in error when ordering we will send a replacement item at no charge but you will be liable for the return postage and insurance (if applicable).

Cancellations prior to despatch of goods

We are happy to cancel your order immediately on the receipt of an email confirming your request. Subject to the goods not being despatched, we will immediately refund your payment. If you cancel an order which has already been despatched the cost of returning it is up to you. Birtchnells do not accept any form of liability for loss or damage of retuned goods.

If you wish to exercise your right to cancel, the goods must be immediately returned to us, unused, and at your own cost.

Birtchnells Terms & Conditions

  1. Receipt of Orders
    The placing of an order by a customer shall constitute an offer to Birtchnells to purchase goods at the current price advertised by Birtchnells. Birtchnells shall have an absolute discretion as to whether or not to accept that offer
  2. Availability of Stock
    Birtchnells shall endeavour to supply any and all items ordered. However we reserve the right not to supply any or all items ordered by a customer if the same are not available.
  3. VAT
    In the event that VAT rates increases, we reserve the right to pass on any such additional amounts to the customer with immediate effect.
  4. Change of Price.
    We reserve the right to change the price of goods on our website at any time.
  5. Title & Risk
    Title to and risk in the items ordered by the customer shall pass to the customer on delivery to the customer(s) premises once full payment has been received by the company.
  6. Payments due to customers.
    Where Birtchnells is liable to repay any amount to a customer under these Terms & Conditions, that repayment shall take the form of a cheque or card refund for all sums.
  7. Time of Delivery.
    Birtchnells shall endeavour to ensure that a customers order is despatched at the time requested by the customer. Where Birtchnells is unable to despatch an order at the time requested by a customer, that order shall be despatched as close to the time requested as is reasonably possible. Whether this is earlier or later than the time requested.
  8. Alterations
    Some Alterations can been done from items from our website, at a charge by Birtchnells. We reserve the right not to except any returned garments which have been altered.
